A dissolved partnership

‘It won’t do to have truth and justice on his side; he must have law and lawyers,' exclaims the old girl, apparently persuaded that the latter form a separate establishment, and have dissolved partnership with truth and justice for ever and a day.

bah, I can't stand Dickens. Though I think he has several valid arguments against utilitarianism, his soapbox ranting is too much for me. Not that I don't mind a good soapbox now and then. I do, but not when the person is yelling.

I'll admit that there's soapboxing but I haven't yet come across any yelling. Where have you heard the yelling?

Hard Times. It isn't literally yelling, it's just that it is so in-your-face that he might as well be. I was speaking metaphorically. Whoops.

I can understand that. I don't remember that much about Hard Times, however. I read it about 4 years ago and my brain doesn't usually retain specifics that long...
